Hey, hey! I’m Sh’Kia! Wife. Mother. Actress. Ghostwriter. Hairstylist. Singer. Screenwriter. Producer. Multi-hyphenate. Baby-snuggler. Self-care struggler. Tab juggler. And now, Blogger.
Born and raised in small-town Oakland, Florida, I grew up singing in the church choir, playing the flute in band class, and dreaming big from the back pew. I’m the daughter of an African-American mother and a Jamaican father, which basically means my childhood was filled with a whole lotta praise dancin’ and beef patties.
On April 28, 2018, I married my best friend, Daniel Augustin—a constant inspiration and my partner in both life and creativity. Together, we welcomed our vibrant baby boy on May 11, 2024, and life hasn’t slowed down since. I’m learning how to raise a tiny human, chase big dreams, and somehow prepare six meals a day (’cause baby’s eating solids, now).
I created Multi-Hyphenated Momma as a space for mommas, creatives, and beautifully complex women to feel seen, heard, and maybe even laugh through the chaos. Some days I’m typing one-handed while breastfeeding. Other days, I’m writing scripts during nap time. Every day, I’m figuring it out as I go—and inviting you to come along with me.
Career-wise? I most recently appeared on Tyler Perry’s Caught Up (BET+), and I’m best known for playing Malika “Kold” Wise on WEtv and AllBlk’s Kold x Windy. You might’ve also caught me on Atlanta’s final season, sharing the screen with Donald Glover and Zazie Beetz, and silently thinking, “This can’t be real life.”
I’m a staff writer on CLEO TV’s Tough Love: Atlanta, and my original scripts have earned recognition in competitions like Screencraft and WeScreenplay: Diverse Voices. I wrote, starred in, and co-produced Kinfolk: The Series, which screened at the Los Angeles Black Film Festival and was selected for Tribeca’s 2022 Creator’s Market. And it’s now streaming on Peacock, Tubi, and more!
In 2024, I published my first book—Quiet Storms of a Flawda Girl’s Diary: Some Almost Entirely Untrue Short Stories—and launched the companion podcast Flawda Girls’ Diaries in 2025. You can catch it on YouTube, Spotify, and wherever folks whisper their truths into microphones.
Before all this, I attended Florida Atlantic University on a music scholarship, led the Black Student Union, and directed a hilarious and heartfelt stage play called The Makings of a Man: Penis Monologues. I graduated with a degree in Finance and Music Business, ’cause why not add money to the mix?
So here I am: multi-hyphenating my way through motherhood, creativity, marriage, and the beautiful mess in between.
Welcome to my blog. Welcome to my story. Let’s figure this out together, Mommas.
